theGrogroup Director, Kate Hennig, has been appointed as Nottingham Professional Services (NPS) new chair person. Kate takes over from retiring chair, Graham Harper of Yorkshire Bank.
Nottingham Professional Services was established in 2014 to provide a forum to bring together professionals across Nottingham from all disciplines such as architects, construction engineers, lawyers, accountants, marketing consultants and other business advisers to network, share best practice, develop careers and encourage work referrals. It’s an independent voice for Nottingham’s professional sector, developing the business advisory community and its successors.
The organisation arranges a number events each year aimed at bringing the advisory community together. Some are networking events, some are updates on Nottingham City developments, some are for continued professional development (CPD), and some are fun events such as go-karting, drinks nights, trips to the races and to watch Nottingham Panthers.
Kate, qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC and has worked in Nottingham and the professional services sector for over 20 years. She is now a Director of specialist consultancy theGrogroup which works with partners, directors and associates of professional services firms to help them develop strategic planning, team leadership, and other core skills such as financial management, negotiation and business development. She also the East Midlands regional chair of the PM Forum.
Commenting, Kate said, “I am delighted to have been elected chair of Nottingham Professional Services. We have a very active and supportive committee and a very exciting programme of events scheduled for 2018. If you are a professional working in Nottingham and you have not been to an event before there has never been a better time to get involved.” Kate added, “I would like to add a personal thank you to Graham on behalf of NPS for the brilliant job he has done as chair and the contribution he has made to the committee over the last 4 years.”
Handing over the reins after, 2 years as chair, Graham Harper added, “I have really enjoyed my time as chair and wish Kate and the rest of the committee every success in promoting NPS and further establishing it as the leading organisation where all professional advisers can meet to help grow Nottinghamshire’s economic wealth.”
