theGrogroup has been appointed by Future Cities Catapult as their learning and development partner to supply a number of programmes.

Eleven Catapults were established three years ago by Innovate UK, the UK Government’s innovation agency to transform the UK’s capability for innovation in specific areas and help drive future economic growth

Future Cities Catapult works collaboratively on a not-for-profit model, and is currently focused on three core themes: promoting healthy cities, building resilience in urban infrastructure, and designing strategies to help cities adopt and finance smarter technologies.

In order to help transform them from a start-up model to the next stage in their business lifecycle theGrogroup has been appointed to help the Catapult to deliver a foundations skills programme for all of their people and a management skills development programme for 25 – 30 managers, senior managers and leaders. The objective is to complement their academic expertise with the development of enhanced commercial and financial skills.

The programme will be delivered over a 9-month period and will be aligned with Catapults competency framework to further develop existing skills in negotiation, presenting, understanding finance, time management, and managing people, teams and performance.

Carolyn Moore, Head of Human Resources commented, “theGrogroup listened to our requirements and are developing a bespoke programme that will help deliver cultural change and equip our team members with critical skills to ensure they are commercial about providing solutions while managing teams and projects effectively.”

Kate Hennig, director and lead facilitator of the programme added, “theGrogroup focus upon delivering improved business results, rather than simple delivery of a training solution. We are looking forward to working with Carolyn and the team at the Future Cities Catapult to provide solutions that align people to their business strategy and help them achieve their defined milestones and objectives.”

The Catapult family are designed to transform the UK’s capability for innovation in specific areas and help drive future economic growth.
