A medium sized accounting firm operating from half a dozen offices wanted to develop an effective and consistent approach to managing their people. Specifically, the managing partner wanted to see clear improvement in performance across the business by ensuring that teams (through line managers) were focused on:
Solution
We worked with the business to create an effective approach which would not only deliver the outcomes but also help to motivate, improve engagement and break down some of the silos prevalent in the firm.
The development phase included interviews with managers, leaders and staff to understand the culture, identify current management performance and zoom-in to the management behaviours and actions that would have most impact on the firm. We also reviewed performance reviews and exit interviews to build a clear diagnosis of the issues.

Results
We met with the client to review the programme at the half way stage and three months after the final group session where individual action plans were submitted. The senior partner was happy that the programme had delivered against the outcomes and had collected financial KPIs which suggested individual and collective performance had improved. Staff retention figures had increased significantly and results from a recent engagement survey demonstrated that people across the business recognised and valued the behavioural changes that had been successfully embedded.
